In the biology teaching practice, the teacher should take it as the important course content to raise the student learning capability, to develop the student intelligence as well as to cause the teaching to adapt to student' s psychological development. Metacognition research was enriching and has developed the psychology study theory, in the practice, it has the extremely vital significance for "teaching students how to learn" . The teacher must raise student' s cognition ability as well as raise student' s Metacognition ability in the biological teaching.This article systematically introduces the current Metacognition fundamental research achievement, discusses Metacognition' meaning and structure, and discusses the factors that affect the student Metacognition ability development as well as the role of metacognition in the middle school biology study. So the author selects the students in the second high school Jianyang as the subjects, carrying on the research of raising students Metacognition ability in the biology teaching. Through the training of Metacognition ability and some teaching strategies, the research has yielded the preliminary result. The experimental result indicated that raising and training student' s Metacognition ability through the union concrete study content, may raise their Metacognition level as well as the interest of the biology study, and develop student's biological proficiency.
