Function teaching is the nucleus of mathematics teaching in senior Middle school; because it plays a dominant role in the whole process of mathematics. Moreover, the concepts of function are very abstract and function teaching contains plentiful thinking methods of mathematics. Such as discussing in species, Combination of number and shape, equal transformation of and the equation of function. These thinking methods are the soul of function teaching, which will run through the teaching from the beginning to the end. However, it is an important and difficult point to teach function. The author has accumulated some experiences after years teaching.The article bases on large amount of materials and the acquainting with the function teaching both at home and abroad . And it probes into the teaching value according to my own teaching experience. And it also analyses the materials through survey and investigation.The forth part contains two experiments according to the main problem in function teaching The fifth part forward teaching tactics basing on the above results and strategies..
