The Process Approach of writing considers writing as a process instead of a result, which pays more attention to developing the students'ability of writing. It acquires the students to take part in a series of activities such as inquiring, collecting information, analyzing information, discussing and making drafts etc. This way of writing may improve the students'ability of collecting and dealing with information, analyzing and solving problems, co-operating and thinking. The present study is based on question survey as well as interview and theoretical analysis. Through the investigation on the present learning situation of senior middle school students before writing the composition down, it attempts to know about something on senior middle school students'learning situation before writing during the process of writing, discuss the problems that the students have and make some suggestions on how to solve the problems.The thesis inquires into the present learning situation of senior middle school students before writing the composition down. It includes the following aspects: 1.the students'learning situation during the teacher's leading in 2.the situation of students'discussing 3. the situation of students'making drafts. The thesis discusses something about present inquiring situation on the process approach of writing abroad and home, and then has an analysis on the results of the questionnaire. At last it gives some suggestions and countermeasures on how to solve the problems.The study has been done mainly through the way of investigation of questioning, assisted with the ways of interviewing and consulting references. A questionnaire has been done to 90 students in Wanghua High School in Fushun in Liaoning Province. The results are as follows:1. the problems during the process of teaching's leading in: Many students don't know teacher's teaching aims; some students can't follow the teacher or they don't know how to deal with the information offered; some students even hate everything about writing.2. the problems during the process of students'discussing: Being poor in vocabulary and misusing the words affect English writing directly; some students know little about English knowledge, especially sentence structure so that they have to think in Chinese, which leads to Chinglish.3.the problems during the process of students'making drafts: Some students are not sure about the structure of the composition even after discussing; some students know little about the literary styles of composition, conjunctive words or expressions about showing one's ideas.The above results have been worked out in this thesis and advice is given on how to solve them: 1.the situation of teacher's leading in: Know the importance and aim about...
