Many researchers at home and abroad have absorbed in the study on the learning strategies during the few decades, but only few focus mainly on the inferential strategy training, especially about the students' inferential strategy in reading in middle school. Meanwhile, the inferential strategy questions in NMET are going up year after year, and the students feel them the most difficult questions to deal with. So the study about the inferential strategy training in reading in middle is urgent and important.Induction, deduction and abduction are the main categories of inferring. But in reading, the most important thing for the students in middle school is to recognize and understand the different types of inferential questions in reading first and then take advantage of different kinds of integrated inferring process to deal with the questions, guided by the reading approaches, such as top-down, bottom-up model and interactive approach. The English teachers in middle school should give the students more opportunities to be trained all kinds of inferential strategy in everyday classroom teaching. The original intention was to gather up the inferential strategy training pattern in reading to improve the students' reading competence in middle school so that they can get satisfying marks in their NMET since the students have had more difficulties in reading, especially about inferential questions, and can't get satisfying marks in NMET. So trying to find the effective inferential strategy training pattern in middle school to improve the students' reading ability is the main goal of the experiment. The author suggested a relevant comparative experiment about inferential strategy training on two parallel classes of the 11-grade students. Discussion is presented based on data collected from two questionnaires before and after the experiment, the finial-examination tests, and students' interview. The effectiveness of inferential strategy training is identified through the analysis.Although there are many limitations of this experiment, the author still think inferential strategy training is useful and effective to the students. So it is beneficial to...
