Currently, studies on conceptions of learning prevails in the field of educational psychology. Those studies mostly focus on conceptions of learning from an aspect of teachers or students themselves. However, how teachers perceive the conceptions of learning of students, what teachers think about students' conceptions of learning, which importantly constitute teachers' conceptions of learning and provide a basis of teaching decision and teaching behavior, is still not fully investigated. Teachers' cognition of students' conceptions of learning, also influencing students' learning behavior and their achievement, has a significance of both theory and practice, and deserves investigating.After Perry's initial work, most study followed in the way of qualitative research and quantitative research respectively based on phenomenology and epistemological beliefs. Cano etc. considered these two ways to be combined to make people's complicated conceptions of learning deeply understood.Watkins continued the quantitative paradigms, and concluded different types of teachers' cognition of students' conceptions of learning, indicating that there exist differences between teachers' own conceptions of learning and their cognition of students' conceptions of learning. It's discussed whether teachers should take these differences into account and why teachers ignore students' conceptions of learning in their teaching. A series of three studies constitutes the present research.In study 1, Junior Middle School Teachers' Cognition of Students' Epistemological Beliefs Scale(JMSTCSEBS), was developed based on Schommer's Epistemological Beliefs Scale and relative researches. In study 2, JMSTCSEBS was used to examine 1258 junior middle school teachers' cognition of students' epistemological beliefs. Elements influencing teachers' cognition of students' Epistemological Beliefs are discussed, including gender, years of teaching, subject to teach, head-teacher or not, profession post, diploma, location(city or town), conception of teaching.
