It has been developed based on the reform of high schools in some big cities and the experience abroad, the current situations of the universities. Showing great vitality, basketball club has become a comprehensive teaching form in universities, amalgamating basketball teaching, extracurriculum activities and sport training. The high schools which own basketball teaching clubs are mainly in the developed regions such as Guangdong, Shenzhen, Zhengjiang, Shanghai and Liaoning. For instance, Shenzhen University and Dalian University of Technology own their basketball teaching clubs and have achieved effective results. It is necessary for high schools to carry on rich extracurriculum sport activities and to further its reseach on the basketball teaching clubs, which is closely related to the students' physical and mental health and is an emergent task of deepen students' sports awareness and habit.This thesis, based on the research of the definition, nature, characteristics, management and the operating system of high school basketball teaching clubs, its successful experience from home and abroad and the analysis of the current situation of basketball in Guangxi's high schools, proposes the idea of establishing basketball teaching clubs in the high school of Guangxi.. The investigation has shown that most of the students in the high schools of Guangxi like sports, especially basket. This has laid certain social and public foundation for the basketball teaching clubs. The purpose of the students' taking part in athletic activities is to keep fit and improve their athletic level. The factors that make students take part in the sports are that they like sports, they are influenced by their friends, or the leaders and the teachers encourage them to do so. All these have shown that the activities are subjective to inadequate sport equipment and the limited time. The factors that influence teachers' positivity are mainly their unsatisfactory treatments and the sports not being taken seriously. In Guangxi, the difficulty of establishing basketball teaching clubs is its inadequate equipment and lack of sport fund. However, there are still some advantages of establishing clubs in Guangxi: firstly, the support of the school leaders and teachers. The author, in his investigations, get an understanding that the leaders of the high schools all encourage the establishing basketball teaching clubs; secondly, experts believe that the current basketball teachers are competent to do the job of carrying out basketball teaching, in the form of basketball clubs with the principle of"lifelong sport, health first"; thirdly, the place, equipment and the operating fund can basically meet the need of the teaching clubs; fourthly, relevant laws and regulations and favorable educational environment provide legal safeguard and broad developing space for the establishing of clubs. Besides, most students have the intention to join the clubs, 97.5% of the teachers show their support in establishing basketball teaching clubs in the high schools in Guangxi, and 85.71% of the experts' attitude toward the trend of basketball teaching in Guangxi is that clubs should be established.Based on the above analysis, this thesis proposes the idea of establishing basketball teaching clubs in the high schools in Guangxi. The quality of the clubs is that schools are the foundation; students are the main body of the activity. Students, according to their own interest and need, can choose basketball club as an in-class and extracurriculum teaching organization.
