| Nowadays, in senior English class. Reading is regarded as a sufficient way to get the knowledge. The improvement of reading ability is not only pave a way for the development of logic but also the rise of communication ability. In that means we say reading is the core of senior English teaching. In terms of college entrance examinations reading comprehension in the English paper is increasingly hard to handle in recent years which are becoming a big challenge for English reading teaching. Although most of the high schools make efforts to English reading, the result is not satisfied .Personally; I think the relevant discourse theories have not been applied into this field.Discourse Analysis Theory has been applied into many fields after its formation and this theory can be applied to instruct the English teaching. some theories in the field such as schema, cohesion,etc are critically important in enhancing the readers' comprehension ability and improving their communicative competence. Under the title of The Teaching of Reading in Senior High School Based on the Discourse Analysis Theory, the author uses concrete statistics and experiment to explore the application of this theory in English reading teaching. Moreover, the author introduces a reading teaching mode based on my teaching experiences and certain principles in order to find a sufficient way for enhancing students'reading comprehension.In this essay, the importance of reading is summarized at the very beginning .Then, under the analysis of examinations; the problems of English reading teaching are proposed .And then, the Discourse Analysis Theory is explored from all sides, in which schema, cohesion theories are introduced generally. After that the author makes a survey, prove that Discourse Analysis Theory can be applied in English class to improve students'reading ability. At last, the author proposes a teaching mode"leading–reading __ practicing"based on the several principles and the Standard of English Class, and give some suggestions of future English reading teaching.The author hopes what she has put forward in the dissertation can have a positive function to change the situation of English reading teaching and can be of some help and value to the colleagues. |
