Senior High School Spoken English Teaching: Problems & Solutions

With this thesis, the writer elaborates the differences between spoken English and written English and the significant part that oral English teaching plays in the whole of senior high school English teaching in China in great details. This thesis also covers the requirements about oral English teaching from National English Curriculum Standard (published in 2003, by the Ministry of Education of China).The writer also systematically analyzes the evolvement of oral English teaching theories and practices involved. With a questionnaire the writer then goes into the present existing problems & their causes in senior high oral English teaching.And finally the writer puts forward some possible ways to improve the situation, and some solutions to solving the problems, including the principles for oral English teaching and some effective organizing forms for class and extracurricular oral English teaching activities in practice etc.
