Comrade Jiang ze-min remarked: "Creation is the soul of a nation's advancement, the motivation of a country's prosperity..." The key of enterprise is talents, and the key of talents is creation, so the cultivation of students' creative thinking should be focused on. In present teaching-learning reform, how to cultivate students' creative thinking by carrying out teaching strategies has become the closely concerned problem which needs to be solved urgently.As for how to cultivate students' creative thinking and the growth of creative teachers during Geography teaching, in both theory and practice aspects, this thesis offers some new angles of view as well as workable teaching strategies and patterns.The whole thesis is composed of the following parts:Part One: The implication and features of creative thinking are set forth in this part. It approaches the meaning of cultivating students' creative thinking; it introduces the overseas and domestic situation of cultivating creative thinking and the creative quality of Chinese teenagers; it also analyses how geography functions the cultivation of creative thinking, and the present condition of launching creative thinking in geography.Part Two: In detail this part discusses the basic theory of teaching philosophy, the science of brain, education psychology, theory of education, environmental science and creativity while cultivating the students' creative thinking, trying to reveal the relations among these theories.Part Three: Under the guide of theory of education and educational psychology, apart from the principles of cultivating Creative thinking in geography teaching this part researches creative teaching strategies and way, such as emanative thinking, opposite thinking, comparative thinking, special thinking and synthesis thinking.Part Four: On the basis of the discussion of creative teaching patterns, combining with geography teaching practice, this part suggests three geography teaching patterns to cultivate students' creative thinking, they are "leading-in and inquiry", "Solving problems" and "involving".Part Five: This part discusses the meaning and theory on how to train teachers with the sense of creativity, and the way of self-developing.Part Six: While doing this research work, I did a large quantity of experiments, trying to provide practical foundation for geography teaching reform.
