Teachers'professional development has become a major tendency of international teaching occupational development.The newly performed curriculum reform for elementary education has brought about a new challenge to the teachers'professional development, which requires teachers to enhance their qualities comprehensively according to the requirements of the curriculum reform, eventually achieving the great development of their profession.Based on the survey of the present situation of the professional development of politics teachers teaching in middle schools ,and aimed at the solution to the problems existing in the professional development of politics teachers, this dissertation, in accordance with the requirements of the new curriculum, states the connotation of the professional development of politics teachers in middle school under the current situation and proposes some basic rules as well as effective approaches for the teachers'professional development.The dissertation is composed of five parts :1.To raise the concept of Teachers' Professional Development. It states the general tendency for international teachers' professional development and the overall requirements for teachers' professional development in our country ,which are based upon the new curriculum reform .2.To deal with the problems with the development of the politics teachers' professional skills. The major problems are revealed and analyzed according to the all-round survey in this part.3.To define the connotation of the professional development of politics teachers in middle school .In this part the connotation are elaborated from various angles involving professional principle, professional knowledge and professional technical ability.4.To establish the basic principles for the professional development of politics teachers .Four principles , keeping the initiative of developing professional skills, maintaining school-base professional development ,achieving professional development by stages and satisfying the demands of the age in professional development ,are stressed in this section.5.To propose the possible approaches to teachers' professional development as...
