A View Of The Problems And Strategies Of Moral Education In Universities From The Moral Behavior Contempary College Students

Moral education in the universities is not only an important part of higher education, but a very necessary aspect for the build-up of our socialistic spiritual civilization. The rapid development of modern science and technology, as well as the deepening of political, economical and educational reform, not only has great impact on the study about the theory of moral education but also has a profound effect on the application of it. All the universities are posed with a common issue, that is, how to do the moral education work well, which is also an unavoidable problem in the process of reforming our higher education system. The central government of China has pointed out in Some Advice on How to Enforce and Improve Moral Education In Universities that the youth are the future and hope of our nation, so educating and cultivating them well is not only the fundamental project of our socialistic construction but also the great expectation and will of the public.The paper studies the conduct morals of current college students, illustrates the theory on the morals in life and discusses the significance of strengthening moral education of university students. The concept of moral education and conduct morals are defined and the purpose, role and functions of moral education in colleges are addressed in the paper. The author further elucidates the external and internal relations between moral education and conduct morals in colleges. Existing problems of conduct morals of college students and their formations are also summarized in the paper. On the basis of these, existing problems during the process of moral education in colleges are raised. Finally, suggestion of enhancing moral aptitudes of college students is proposed in the paper.To make this essay practical, the author has made a research into the students'moral behavior in Tianjin University by giving out the questionnaires, and has also made analyses about result in the form of statistics and charting. Such research methods as referring to documentary, investigating, systematical analyzing are applied in this paper.
