This study takes the cases of college students, and explores the intercourse of fellow villagers from the perspective of social representations, centering on the structure, content and the psychosocial process of salience concerning social representations of villagers (SRV); ontogenesis of SRV, and the interconnection between SRV and the trust building process in social intercourse of villagers. The study shows that SRV also has two components: the central core and peripheral elements, and the central core still runs deep in the socio-historical-cultural context of Chinese tradition in that it is stable over time in nature, which reflects the commanding influences on the intercourse in theses days of Chinese traditional agricultural culture. As for the central core, it is mainly consist of three elements, that's living away from the native birthplace; the native birthplace lying in vicinity and common understanding of the culture and the preexisting connotations of fellow villagers-caring for each other and helping mutually. While the peripheral elements are consist of the psycho-cognition concerning administrative regionalization. The two layers of SRV interact with each other, which does bring about the salience of social identity based on common Native place in specific administrative regionalization, and thereafter, the preexisting connotations of fellow villagers is brought into action. Such above is the psychosocial process underlying the salience of SRV. And furthermore, the study shows that no qualitative difference exists in interpersonal trust-building process of villagers as opposed to non-villagers. The minor difference lies in that when contacting mutually at the beginning, the salience of SRV can promote social intercourse of villagers relatively in"Li-yu"stage by inspiring them to take social identity based on common native birthplace, while social intercourse of non-villager need a longer time very likely, however, it still depends on dynamic interaction in subsequence that personal trust can be built in social intercourse of villagers, which is the same with non-villagers. Additionally, loaded with social identity based on common birthplace naturally, Guan-xi of village has more socio-psychological implication, which exhibits on personal intimacy and sense of obligation mainly, and doesn't concern personal trust. Moreover, social intercourse among college students built on SRV is still important social resource, though its significance has abated with social transformation in Modern China. In the next place, the study also shows that the ontogenesis of SRV is essentially a process during which individual falls in with the social group which he was birthed in, and joins in the common practices relating to social intercourse of villager with social identity based on common native birthplace and SRV in his grasp.
