To explore the characteristics of parents' perceptions and child-rearing patterns of the parents of autistic children, 71 autistics' parents and 229 comparison parents were surveyed by questionnaire. The results conclude that:1. Autistics' mothers' maternal perceptions are significant lower than the normal group mothers overall. There is no obvious difference between autistics' paternal perceptions and comparison group's. The autistics' mothers' over intervention, over protection and severe discipline are significant higher than comparison mothers; the autistics' father's neglect and over protection is significant higher than comparison fathers.2. The more positive the autistics' parents' perceptions, the higher scores they obtained in the test of emotional concern and understanding, but the lower scores they obtained in the test of over intervention and severe discipline.3. There is no significant difference in parents' perceptions among the autistics' parents who own different ages, and whose children's ages and diploma degrees are different.4. There are significant differences in over intervention, over protection among the autistics' parents who own different ages; there are significant differences in over intervention, over protection among the autistics' mothers whose diploma degrees and children's ages are different. There are significant differences in emotional concern and understanding, over intervention, over protection, and neglect among the autistics' fathers whose children's ages are different; there are significant differences in over protection and neglect among the autistics' fathers whose diploma degrees are different.5. There are no significant difference in parents' perceptions and child-rearing patterns among parents whose occupations are different.Finally, the study gives some advices to enhance the parents to optimize their parents' perceptions and child-rearing patterns according to the viewpoints in an autistics' parents' salon and the information written by the autistics' parents on the internet.
