Teachers' professional structure and contents have been challenged by the new curriculum reform and they have to promote their professional quality by all sorts of continuing development programs. As a model of professional development, peer coaching has been found to be effective in facilitating the transfer of newly acquired knowledge and skills into classroom teaching strategies. Taking Marxism theory as the direction, using the literature analytic method, the logical speculation method, educational narrative inquiry method, the case analytic method and so on, this paper applies the knowledge of Psychology, curriculum theory and teachers' professional development theory, reveals the nature of peer coaching, discusses its usefulness and models, analyzes the basic idea that implementing peer coaching should hold, and raises some practice strategies. This article comprises six parts.The first part is preface. It is a brief introduction to the reason, significance, history, research methods and hypotheses of this research.The second part discusses the mature of peer coaching and its usefulness in professional development of teachers.The third part is the description of peer coaching models. Three models have been generalized to ovide a analytic framework for peer coaching.The fourth part is the basic idea of peer coaching that implementing peer coaching should hold. The fifth part is the practice strategies of peer coaching. Many factors affect the implementing of peer coaching, so this paper provides the corresponding strategies.The last part is epilogue. Peer coaching is effective for professional development, whole school improvement and.student performance improvement. The author hopes that more and more relevant research come out and serves the new curriculum reform.
