During the reforms for the elementary education curriculum, the compilation idea for the teaching materials and the contents have changed, the information provided has also increased a lot . If the traditional teaching methods are still being selected, teachers still focus on the knowledge instructions and explanations, but neglect to raise the students'reading ability by the teaching material carriers, we will have the following realistic problems:Teachers feel language knowledge isn't as systematized as the old ones in the present teaching materials, there are too many course contents to finish, the class time is so intense that we can't complete the big quantity of the text and so on.English Curriculum Standard by the Ministry of Education pointed out: The purpose of the English Education is to raise the students'ability to gain and apply the information by English. Reading is the most important way for Chinese people to learn English, grasp the basic English knowledge, consolidate and expanse the quantity of vocabulary, get the English information, improve the understanding to the countries where English is used as the first language and develop the power of thought by English. Self-Access reading is the most basic quality for students to gain the information independently, apply the information, analyze and solute the problems, realize the development of the students'Individuality and the ability to learn English for life long.Thus, the research on the junior high school students'self-Access reading is one of the most important content in implementing the task-based teaching. This research has the important practical significance on expanding the English intelligible input, impelling the mobility interaction in English study and widely improving the quality of English teaching. The mentality of the research is: firstly, we have a wide study and discussion about the task-based Language Teaching, Social Constructivism and SLT Theories, secondly, we make a questionnaire to investigate the situation of both the reading teaching and the studying in junior high school, thirdly, we analyze the data from the questionnaire to find out the barriers which influence the students'process of self-access reading:(1)The self-access reading consciousness of the students is weak and the reading also lacks initiations and plans(2)The limited reading materials are hard to meet the need of the students with different interests.(3) The students can't read efficiently because of the lack of reading strategies and the vocabulary.(4 ) It's hard for the students to keep on reading because of the lack of a valid evaluation mechanism and the technique of supervising and controlling.(5)Some contents are difficult for the students to understand because they don't have enough knowledge about the background.For the problems which the students meet during their reading process, we choose two classes from Grade Two in a junior high school.,help the students to overcome the barriers during their self-access reading process step by step, try to give a change to the way of instructions to raise reading abilities. The specific measures are as the followings:(1)Train the students'consciousness of the independent reading.(2)Help the students to grasp the methods of self-access reading(3)Encourage the students to work well in the long-term and short-term plans.(4)Give the students some instructions about the skills of self supervising and controlling .(5)Make a feedback and evaluation system for the self-access reading.(6)Develop the habits and improve the ability of self-access-reading. After raising the ability and habits of self-access reading for a semester , we have discovered the students'reading motivation and interest have enhanced. The effective study strategies are forming gradually. During the final English exam the students in the experimental class have an obviously higher score rate in reading and writing than those in the non-experimental class.Finally, for some insufficiencies which exist in the experiment , we have made systematically analyses and explanations to the problems we must pay attention to during the reading strategy instructions , besides, we have a forecast about how to impel the students to carry on the self-access reading and wish to make an upholstery for the future research.This article divides into three parts:The first part carries on the elaboration to the research condition and value about this topic. The second part gives a general description about the Social Constructivism, Task-based LT and SLA Theories. In the third part, we analyze the students'barriers appearing during the self-access reading process through the empirical data and the three theories we have mentioned above, propose the strategies to solve the problems, and furthermore, elaborate the methods of raising the strategies specifically.
