With frequent international communication, English is becoming more and more important and necessary. English teaching is given more attention than ever. In order to keep up with the modern concepts of teaching, the Ministry of Education issued a guideline for fundamental education reform and is carrying out the new curriculum. While in this information age, English education in China has long been inefficient and not so satisfactory. Especially in senior middle school like ours the teaching ideas are relatively backward and teachings modes are monotonous and unified, not allowing for the students of different levels, which is not suitable to students to study English at different levels. As a result, the students' scores are low, students' basic knowledge is not balanced, and they are lack of the experience of success, and lack of confidence in study. The theory of the second language acquisition shows that there exist differences between learners. So teachers should consider students' different levels when teaching. Our school has called on the teachers to face different students in teaching process, to set up higher, middle and lower three levels in teaching content and homework, in other words, teach students by their different levels. But it is hard to implement in the traditional teaching environment. In recent years, computers are introduced into the education field and this new teaching form, called Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL), is playing a more and more important part and forms the background of the new round of curriculum reform in basic education. Our school has been equipped with a multimedia classroom, which makes the teaching at different levels possible. So the researcher carried out this research on stratified teaching through computer-assisted environment, that is, to teach students in accordance with their different levels, breaking the traditional teaching method and adapting to each student's development in a more flexible way. This research will try to put forward a new model of teaching and learning to advance students' motivation and autonomy, resume students' self-confidence and improve students' achievement so that the qualified teaching could be developed further. At last, the limitation of the research and implications are presented.
