Being a multi-layering, multi-dimensional mental active system, self-control as whole function of mentality is important to mental dynamic and plays an important role in individual's adapting society. The middle school student's mental characteristics expresses they have already had certain independence and self-control ability. With flying development of the Internet, the popularity of the family computer and the convenience of the online service inevitably influence the middle school student's life and studies, making them have no supervision to get into online world. Online self-control will contribute to occurrence of active internet use behavior among middle-school students. This research studied relationship between online self-control ability and online self-control motivation and internet use behavior among middle-school students from the angle of online user.The main findings are as following:(1) The compiled questionnaire of online self-control ability has 22 items and includes three dimensions, which are online emotional self-control, online behavioral self-control and online mental self-control respectively. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire are excellent.(2) The compiled questionnaire of online self-control motivation has 17 items and includes four dimensions. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire is excellent. The questionnaire can be applied among middle-school students.(3) The characteristics of online self-control ability about middle-school students: there was normal distribution of online self-control ability among middle-school students; the online self-control ability of low grade students is higher than that of high grade students; the online self-control ability of girls is higher than that of boys.(4) The characteristics of online self-control motivation about middle-school students: The differences of online self-control motivation are not significant in sex, but significant in grade. The online self-control motivation of grade one and grade three are higher than that of grade two. (5) There is high correlation between the online self-control ability and its three dimensions and internet use behavior. With increasing of online time, the online self-control ability shows a downward tendency.(6) The lower online self-control pressure is the fewer online chatting and playing games of middle school students, the more their online learning. Vice versa.(7) Online self-control ability, online self-control motivation and online self- control pressure can predict internet use behavior.The innovation of the research is following:(1) The research firstly has studied the relationship between self-control and internet use behavior systematically. We put forward some advice on how to increase active internet use behavior from angle of internet user.(2) The compiled questionnaires of online self-control ability and online self– control motivation will give a foundation to further research.In order to make conclusions more significant in future study, the personality and environment should be considered as independent variable, in the meantime, the number of samples should be increased.
