State-owned Enterprises And Sociocultural Change Of Zhuang Nationality

With push of our country's modernization and execution of the great strategy for the western development of our country, state-owned enterprises, esp. those enterprises whose projects are belonging to exploitation of resources are built and developed in western districts, which have injected viability and vitality into the economic development of western ethnic regions."Advancing frontier and richening people", amplifying the advantage of resources in ethnic regions, making rational use of resources, protecting ethnic culture, etc. and insisting on the path of steady and scientific development concept, have already become people's common focuses. Pingguo Aluminium Company, a strategic project for western development, which's invested and constructed by our country in Pingguo County, a revolutionary old area in Baise, Guangxi. This dissertation takes Biluo Group of Longlai Village, a village of Zhuang Nationality near Pingguo Aluminium Company as an example. Using anthropological theory, the paper inquires into the relation between the state-owned enterprise and the village of Zhuang Nationality in the ethnic area, especially the influences of the state-owned enterprise on ethnic traditional culture, using the methods of participant observation, profound interview, collection of documentary materials, and so on. Taking state-owned enterprise as a modernized symbol, the treatise reveals sociocultural change of Zhuang Nationality in the process of modernization through cultural lens, which is the keystone of the paper. The dissertation also tries to supplement anthropological case about the relation between the state-owned enterprise and the village.
