Since the reform and open, the basic education of our country has gained brilliant achievements and the basic education courses also have gained obvious achievements. However, the general level of it is still low. The original basic education courses can't keep pace with the times. To carry out two important documents, the Department of Education decided to advance the reform of basic education courses and adjust them in order to meet the new requirements of quality-oriented education..The purpose of the study lies in not only allevating students burden and making students study in a harmonious atmosphere but also improving teaching quality and promoting students'development.The study mainly describes some personal and family factors of the effects on students'learning interests at present by analysis from the information of sample survey, including study basis, ages and sexes; communication with parents, parents'academic attainments and parents'attitude towards study.The results of the study are as follows: First, students'learning interests are closely related to individual differences, such as differences in intelligence, ages and sexes. Above all, it is related to their attitudes. The data shows that 90% students have realized the importance of geograghy. Meanwhile, they pay attention to combining their studying methods and teachers'teaching methods. Therefore, they can set up confidence mentally. But the students who are not interested in studying geography often feel it difficult to master the best studying methods. As a result, they feel frustrated and have low spirits in studying geography. Second, most students believe the original teaching methods contribute to developing interests in geography. Third, the data from survey suggest that 64% students'families value their geography study and 84% students think that studying geography is useful for their future, which reflects students'understanding level. Thus families and society have different effects on learning interests to some degree.A conclusion is drawn by means of analysis and teaching tests that teaching methods are the most important factors in developing interests. In order to make all the students be interested in studying geography, teachers should use interesting teaching methods, which can make class lively.
