The research of shadow is one of the most interesting itemsin Analytical Psychology. Shadow is in the bottom of the character, whichcouldn't be public to others. They includes undeveloped all kinds ofpotentials and ignored or oblivious characters that are in theunconscious. My study expects to research in shadow by the Implicit AssociationTest (IAT) that was invented by Greenwald in 1998 for the first time. Thegoal of the study is if there is some bias to the shadow material on theIAT. 53 students from two universities received the test. In the experiment, one part of the attribute concepts is words which includes positive andnegative shadow- adjectives, and the other is pictures which includesthe shadow-pictures. And the target concepts are the same as in the IAT.The study acquired prospective results, first, it clearly shows thatthere is shadow in the unconscious and no gender difference on sex. Atthe same time, the questionnaire shows that the most unacceptable shadow characters are narrowness,inauthenticity,acedia,jealousy,cheatself-concern,arrogance and the most acceptable characters aremagnanimous, braveness, authenticity, tolerance, creative, satisfactionand health. Secondly, IAT could be available to shadow materials. Thirdly,The verbal and picture material which are correlated remarkablely canboth be used to measure the implicit social cognition of shadow.
