The new curriculum reform has been challenging the traditional school culture. Inorder to implement the new curriculum reform smoothly, it is essential to rebuild schoolculture. As teacher culture is the most vigorous and significant part in school culture, thestudy of it is the premise of understanding school education and realizing thedevelopment of teachers and education reform. The fundamental goal of basic educationis to cultivate students and to lay a foundation for their future development. Humanbeings are all cultural beings. Each of us grows in certain culture background withinevitable influence of culture. Similarly, teacher culture plays a critical role on thedevelopment of schools and their members. This dissertation explores teacher culture onthe basis of the ideas of teachers, students, school leaders and parents, and discusses therelationship between teachers from a culture perspective. It begins with pointing out theconception of teacher culture and the positive significance of its rebuilding. Then itbriefly analyzes primal problems of traditional teacher culture in our country currently.Finally, it specially comments on several strategies of rebuilding teacher culture.
