Teacher research can accelerate teacher's professional development. At the time of the new-curriculum reform, in order to enhance the effect of teacher research,study on the development of middle school biology teacher's teacher research in recent more than twenty years in China was taken through content analysis method and conversational method.Education papers in recent more than twenty years written by middle school biology teachers in five journals which being about middle school biology education were analyzed.4,617 papers were recorded.It showed that,during this period,amount of the paper was flexure increase along with the change of year,paper's quality didn't changed very distinct and was on the lowest level during 1993 to 1999 ,themes of the paper were about classroom instruction mainly and there were other questions,for example, middle school biology teacher was short of education research method, paper pattern wasn't accord with the normal criterion,etc. More than ten middle school biology teachers were visited.Also with the help of literature,it showed that curriculum reform affected the change of paper amount in every year,change of education policy affected biology teacher's research level, middle school biology teacher's education research method mainly came from work experience and study after graduation, themes of the paper were mainly about classroom instruction because it was the work focus of middle school biology teacher.The result also showed that, motivation and effect of teacher research,time, difference between key and common middle schools and difference between teaching age all could effect the development of middle school biology teacher's teacher research.This is the first empirical research to the development of middle school biology teacher's teacher research in recent more than twenty years in China.At the end of the study,suggestion on how to accelerate the development of middle school biology teacher's teacher research in China was put forward.It needs the endeavor of the government department, normal university and the middle school biology teacher to make the teacher research be more effect in the middle school biology teacher's professional development and the new-curriculum reform.
