Cultural Feedback: The Parent-child Transmission Of Rural Families In The Period Of Reforming And Transformation

Cultural feedback is one kind of social cultural phenomenon that the elder generation learns from the younger generation during the drastic social changes. The writer bases this article on the researches which scholars have had around the world and finds their undiscovered areas, that induces this article. The write went to Lu village for talking and investigating with 12 couples of parent-child, to illustrate the changes of parent-child transmission method which has been running for hundreds of years.The research proves the objectivity that cultural feedback exists in rural family, also the writer investigates the feedback areas, feedback power, related factors and the attitude and opinion between the two generations, and then the writer describes it and analyzes the result. Cultural feedback is the product of social transmission; also it's a new model of cultural transmission, appearing under the impact of social transformation, cultural vicissitude and familial vicissitude. Cultural feedback has a positive function in relieving the conflict of generation gap and accelerating the social progress.Though the cultural feedback has a positive position, the writer doesn't deny that the traditional parent-child transmission still has an effect nowadays. Meanwhile we noted the child generation is not very mature and they need help and direction from their parents in many ways. The parent-child transmission in rural family finally should be toward to the direction with mutuality and equality; it should contain the direction that the parent gives to the child and the cultural feedback that the child gives to the parent.
