| Independent college, as a new rising form, is a new exploration of the general higher education with the development of higher education in China. Its appearance has both rich historical background and necessity. As a new peculiar education mode, although it comes into being for only ten years since its appearance, it is obvious to all that the independent college has great positive effect on our country higher education. However, the mode may also have some impact on higher education due to its juvenility, so, its development has attracted more and more attention. The relationship between independent college and its superior university is a sensitive issue to the development of independent college. If this relationship is well managed, it will be a win-win situation to both the college and the university. Otherwise, it may be the obstacle to the development of the independent college.This thesis generalizes the developing process of the independent college from its historical background. The thesis also reals the subordination and influence relationship between the state-owned attached college run by non-governmental sectors (the former independent college) and its superior university through analysis on several different organization mode and advantage of real private higher education institutions. By combining internet, fieldwork, interview and other means to collect the data, then, the thesis gives a profound analysis on the present relationship between independent college and its superior university and causes of the relationship from five aspects: interspacial location, the college's internal administrative system, teaching management, enrollment and grant of the parchment as well as financial management. Finally, the thesis advances that the relationship between independent college and its superior university should not be generalized, but should be coordinated. Our concept of their relationship is basis and we should ensure to educate according to the law.
