Mathematics provides a concise, accurate and effective means for people in their communication. The unprecedented expansion of information and the exchange of information with unprecedented frequency raised the need to the general cognitive demands of quantitative thinking. Thus the application of simple and accurate mathematical language are required to effectively and accurately express ideas and exchange information. The building of Mathematical ability to communicate has become one of the objectives of mathematics education in the information age. Mathematical communication attracts wide attention from experts and scholars at home and abroad. However, the author noticed that, in most of the classes the reality is that the teacher teachs while the students listen and the teacher asks then the students answer. The activity and initiativity of the students are ignored and real mathematics communication became impossible. Consquently most students don't dare to express their feelings and the experience in mathematics studying or are not good at it. Thus they can't raise valuable mathematics problems, and the learning became a passive process. This will affect not only the learning ability of mathematics, the interest in learning, the improvement of overall quality of students, but also the teaching results. Therefore, it is urgent to build and improve the mathematics communicating ability. Based on this conclusion, the title of this thesis is "an investigation into the strategy of improving mathematical communication in high schools".Firstly, on the basis of the study on the research literature on Mathematical Communication home and abroad, this thesis defines Mathematical Communication. Secondly, after the investigation on the status of the mathematics communication in high school education, analyses is made on the factors that affect the communication. Thirdly, a discussion is made on the improvement of the mathematics communication in high school education. And lastly, a discussion is made on the feasible methods to improve the mathematics communication in high school education with some examples in the teaching practice. After a one-year pilot study and teaching practice, the author got preliminary conclusions and promoted the methods to improve the mathematics communication in high school education which are: to build a environment to make mathematics communication, to help the students to build the sense to ask question, to improve the communication in the solution of the problem, to train the skill of mathematics language, to improve the mathematics communication, and to evaluate the communication scientifically. These methods are proved to be feasible and are popular among the students, thus a good result is achieved.
