The occupational stress of middle school teachers is related not only to both their health and students' development, but with the development of whole elementary education. The purpose of research is to investigate the internal structure of middle school teacher's occupational stress, the distinction of different teachers as well as the relation between their personality trait and occupational stress. For these purpose, the relevant data are collected by open questionnaires, researches into some relevant references, some standard research method, such as exploratory factor analysis, regression analysis and correlation analysis are employed. In the end of the article, some suggestions are put forward to alleviate the stress of middle school teachers and to improve their mental health.The conclusions drawn by this research are as follows:Firstly, occupational stress of middle school teachers is composed of five factors: the environment of organization and teaching, human relationship, student factor, job load and occupational development. The whole occupational stress of middle school teachers in our country is medium, but it is higher in the environment of organization and teaching and job load, lower in human relationship, student factor and occupational development.Secondly, in view of the nature of occupational stress, it is divided into positive occupational stress and negative occupational stress. Further research shows that they're suffering more positive occupational stress than the negative. Thirdly, the effects of the variable in population statistics on the occupational stress are as follows:(1) The stress of men is higher than that of women in human relationship; (2) As far as the occupational stress is concerned, there is no marked difference between the teachers who got different degrees; (3) Length of service as a teacher affects job load and student factor of the occupational stress; (4) The stress of the teachers who don't have academic titles is higher than those who have higher, middle and lower academic titles; (5) The type of schools affects the environment of organization and teaching, job load and student factor of the occupational stress;(6) The teachers who is in charge of a class suffer more higher occupational stress in four factors except the environment of organization and teaching; (7) The stress of teachers who teach graduating class is higher than that of those who don't teach graduating class in job load; (8) The stress of teachers who is divorced is higher than that of those who is married and single, while there shows no difference between the married teachers and the single ones; (9) The teachers whose quality of marriage is lower suffer more higher stress than those whose quality of marriage is good and normal.Fourthly, the personality trait of middle school teachers is markedly related to the occupational stress, the five factors of personality trait can predict the degree of occupational stress, while the effect of neuroticism, extraversion and conscientiousness is the bigger than other two factors.
