With the development of society and improvement of civilization, English teaching methods in primary schools are changing. Game teaching has been used from the ancient time. Game teaching makes teaching more effective. This article summarizes the practice of game teaching in primary schools and tries to prove the advantages of game teaching in primary school classes, trying to promote the development of English teaching.Part one: Introduces the summary of English game teaching in primary schools including the concept and characteristics. The concept is: it is a method that teachers help students learn English knowledge by using all kind of games in teaching and improve student'abilities during the course of English teaching.Part two: Introduces the present research of game teaching in and around the world and its problems.Part three: States the necessity of game teaching in primary schools.Part four: Analyzes the feasibility of game teaching in primary schools according to English characteristic and the psychology feature of pupils. It proves that game teaching is suitable to be largely used in primary English teaching.Part five: States the function and goals of game teaching in primary schools.Part six: States how to carry out game teaching in primary schools and raise the basic principles of designing games. It also analyzes the different effects between traditional teaching and game teaching according to the writer's own classroom observation and raises some suggestions on carrying out game teaching in teaching English in primary schools.
