On Ethic Of Monogyny

In our human being's history, the form of marriage and familyhas experienced three basic forms. They are the communal marriage,the couple marriage and the monogyny. The changes of marriage formusually result from the great progree in social productivity. Of coursethey also reflect the great development of social material civilization.The monogyny replacing the communal marriage and the couplemarriage is a great progress and one of the signs of the beginning ofhuman being's civilization. What's more, it is forever the basic formof the marriage and family in this stage. It has existed for severalthousand years and has developed with the society.On the basis of the monogyny sense, this thesis expands that ourcountry's economic reformation has brought us not only the greatprogress in material form, but also the variation of marriage culture.Nowadays, marriage and family life in China has shown some newsituation and problems from the internal and external conflicts of it.This thesis analyzes the causes as the chang of ethical concept onmarriage and family, the regulation weakness on the morality ofmarriage and the reinforced independence in marriage life. The thesisargues for the ethic of the monogyny from two aspects. One is that therationality of the monogyny lies in the great progress in historicalsignificance, which can be understood from the following ways. (1) Itis the choice of our history. (2) It provides the road for love to comeinto being, exist, and develop between male and female. (3) Itsfoundation contibutes to the formation of husband-wife ethic andnorms. (4) It reflects the humanization character of the monogynywith continuity. Another is fairness. It reflects morality if dicussedfrom the monogyny form itself, reflects equlity if dicussed from rules,justice from its responsibility, and justifiability from its development. Meanwhile, from the point of sticking up for the monogyny, the thesisfirst illuminates the necessity of the monogyny accommodation andholds the views that it is favourable not only to personal developmentand familys' stability and harmony, but also to social hamony andpeace. Then the thesis illuminates the possibility of the monogynyaccomodation and holds the view that it is the gradual reinforcementof moral norms, the more perfection of legal system and the ethicalcareness from social main culture that provides the possibility.Besides these, the thesis gives some specific suggestions and ways forthe ethic accomodation of the monogyny. They are that true love is thesoul, respectation is the basis, faithfulness is the support and concernis the strength.Of course, the monogyny is not the most perfect marriage system,however, it has been the wise choice and the most suitable marriagesystem since our human being came into being.
