The first and most important business of school education is toimplement with the scientific point of view of "people first" and to leadthe student to learn how to "conduct oneself'. The International 21stCentury Education Committee points out: the fundamental target ofeducation and study is to learn how to conduct oneself. As we do anythingfor education, we should take the healthy growing up and whollydevelopment of the students as the centre and foundation. We should passon knowledge and ability, at the same time, we should also bring up thestudents with the quality of excellent morality, healthy personality andgood behavior habit, this is what the epic and society ask for to our schoolas a new and higher requirement.The modem society requires the citizen to possess the attainment ofgood humanism and science, possess the pioneering spirit, cooperativeconsciousness and an opening visual field, possess a wide range of basicability including reading and understanding ability and communicationability, and also, the ability to collect and handle the information by usingmodem technology. The Chinese education should and can play animportant role in training a useful generation in the development of thesociety. In the education of Chinese, we should sum up the gain and lossof Chinese education, reformation in our country, draw lesson from theexperiences in mother tongue education of other countries, follow theprinciples of Chinese education, make Chinese courses which adapt forthe development of modem society, in order to train the student in gainingthe quality of excellent morality and a good quality of science and culture.The traditional Chinese education method values "reprove" andignores "conduct", values "teach" and ignores "influence". It usually paysgreat attention to the knowledge and ability taught in the Chinese class, but ignores the students thoughts and quality of characteristics. That is tosay, it values "study" and ignores the education of "conduct oneself'. Soin the teaching of Chinese, the "conduct oneself' education, whether ornot, combine with the Chinese education, can or can not be successful,greatly depends on if the education contents can for the social reality andthe student's thoughts, if the education method can combine with thecharacteristics, requirements and regulations of the student's behavior. Inthe education of Chinese, we should combination ideal, faith and theorywith the social reality, student's idea and practical life closely, melt thegeneral principle to trailing wind and to the student's daily life and activity;at the same time, we should also pay attention to the teaching of wordsand sentences, imaginable the principles of theory, concrete the abstractconcept and enliven the general content. In the education of Chinese, incarrying out the education of "conduct oneself', we should watch, learnand analysis all activities of the student's thoughts consciously,scientifically conduct the student and help them to establish a right viewof life and morality. We should try to harmoniously combination "study"with "conduct oneself', make the teaching of Chinese plant the root toreality, facing the world, facing the future, and helps the students make asolid foundation for their later life.
