Design And Development Of Web-based Information System For Teaching Management In College

Educational technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitatinglearning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriatetechnological processes and resources. A process can be defined as a series of activitiesdirected toward a specified result. The many resources for learning are central to theidentity of the field. The pool of resources has expanded with technological innovationsand the development of an understanding regarding how these technological tools mighthelp guide learners. Managing refers to the issues of organizing the work of people andplanning and controlling the storage and processing of information in the course ofmanaging projects or organizations. It is the important task of people in educationaltechnology field to manage the teaching resource and information.With the rapid advance of modern information technology and the improvement ofnetwork establishment, people have achieved great success in integrating IT into highereducation. Lots of Information Systems for teaching management in college have beenput into practice, and they are beneficial for advancing the innovation of highereducation teaching management.To meet the need of popularization of higher education, universities and collegescommence constructing new campus, which results in the new difficulty of teachingresource and information management. For instance, the curricula and classmanagement of SNNU still rely on manpower. Nowadays, this outdated method isdisabled in meeting the new managing need. In this position, we should advance theinnovation of teaching information resource management, in order to improve theteaching quality.With the purpose of scientific management of curricula and class, the author of thispaper designed and developed this information system for teaching management, whichis an important part of college teaching management.In chapter 1 of this paper, the author summarizes the concept, aim and content of ITin Education, bring forward the demand and talk about the IT in Higher Education.In chapter 2, the author talks about the situation, idea and theoretical base of systemdevelopment. To be concrete, the author brings forward the aim and idea and explainsthe theoretical base from the following three aspects: first, home and abroad research ofteaching management system; second, the sense of teaching management system for college; third, the condition and limitation of the teaching management system ofSNNU.In chapter 3, the author expounds the overview of the research and design of theteaching management system. On the base of analyzing the content and process ofteaching management of SNNU, the author distributes the user power in the system,partitions the function modules, designs the system database and enumerates some ofthe data process.In chapter 4, the author analyzes the key technology, system condition and theoptimization of system program, and shows the program codes of some function part.In the end, the author sums up the design and development, points out the merit anddefect of the management system. The author looks forward to improving the systemand to the future of IT in Education.
