The professional stress on teacher is an important problem in the field of basic education and a focus in the world's education community. Many experts home and abroad made a lot of relevant studies, but the problem is still existing and even more serious. This paper will take junior high school teachers in Shanghai and Harbin as the object of the study. 265 junior high school teachers in six schools have been questioned. The result turns out that junior high school teacher has higher level professional stress. Working load, stress on examination and the factor of student are the main roots for stress. The feeling of stress is different notably on variables of age, marriage status, education, qualification, teaching grade, subject and whether acting as a teacher in charge of the class.Further more, the origin of professional stress is more complicated than what we have researched. Firstly, the competition among teachers is becoming serious with the social reform. Teachers feel pressured under expectation from society and overload of role play. Some teachers face economic difficulties and new challenges of curriculum change. Secondly, it is difficult to ease the burden of teaching. The teachers are bothered with the problems such as the serious competition inside the school, the demanding management system, difficulty in getting qualification and the behaviors and study achievements made by students. Thirdly, teachers'expectations are too high compared to their low capabilities. They are too sensitive and often fail in academic improvement. As a result, the measurements to ease the stress should be diverse, specific and creative. Firstly, teachers should change their minds and behaviors and form healthy personality. They should manage and control time scientifically, try to solve problems on time, adjust living styles and so on. Secondly, schools should promote the establishment of sound personal relationship, ease the burden for teachers, encourage teachers for further study, improve the quality of teachers, found healthy and ordered educational competition system and reform existing evaluation system, build developmental evaluation mechanism, etc. Thirdly, the society should improve the image of teachers and the social and economic status of teachers, reform education system further, etc.
