On the industrialized road ,the western countries carried out an effective measure of educational tracking actively ,which is meaningful for promoting the education prevalence increasing the development of production and accelerating the democratization of the whole society .However ,many facts have proved that educational tracking ,especially on secondary education ,still has a long way to go in China . Now ,we are on the industrialized process, education should adjust itself bravely to be fit of the new times .This thesis first analyzes the necessity of carrying out educational tracking from three aspects :production development , education prevalence and the different needs of different students. Then it analyzes three main educational tracking patterns of the western countries : educational tracking in school, educational tracking between schools and educational tracking on social basis ,which try to offer some reference for our country. China has made great progress on the educational tracking throughout continuously effort ,but still has some insufficiency .On the basis of general analysis on the reasons of the insufficiency of educational tracking on secondary education,this thesis tries to give some suggestions to solve the problems of educational tracking on secondary education in china: accelerating the development of secondary vocational education , promoting the reasonable competition in educational tacking selection ,leading the education choice and enriching educational tracking patterns.
