Studies On The Constraint Factors Of Parents' Participation In School Education In Rural Areas

The idea that it is important for parents to participate in education has been widely recognized and accepted. The education, in itself, is a combining effort of students, parents, teachers and all circles of the societies. The aim of education can be attainted by integrating all forces from the society. In this article, I will discuss the issue on the theories and practice of how parents participate in education in rural areas.This paper will expatiate on this subject in three parts:Part I : Raising Questions (Chapter One)The background and significance mentioned in this article. It also introduces the aim, contents, measures and ideas to complete the task.Part II: Analyzing Questions (Chapter Two, Three and Four)Chapter Two defines the associated concepts in this article, then sets forth the process of parents' participation and school education, the manners and levels of parents' participation and school education, the constraint factors and countermeasures of parents' participation and school education domestic and abroad. By this way, it will develop a clear idea on the subject. Chapter Three studies the constraint factors of parents' participation and school education in rural areas by in-situ investigation and visits.Chapter Four analyzes the constraint factors from different levels, such as parents, students, teachers, school leaders, governments and education administrations, to sum up the existing problems and reasons.Part III: Solving Questions (Chapter Five)By investigating and analyzing the existing problems, this essay proposes seven measures: strengthening organizations, perfecting legal and administrative systems, promoting the existent concepts, practicing bidirectional services, improving the manners of participation, and putting forward cultivation on the parents in rural areas. All these aims at promoting the effectiveness of parents' participation in school education in rural areas.
