Language education is closely associated with the development of the need of a society. The selection and inclusion of topics related to environment in language teaching materials in China has been undergoing a long-term development and transformation. From the human-centered environmental values of 60s-70s of 20th century which preach the belief that man must win the nature to the ecology-centered environmental value of 21st century which advocates harmonious coexistence between human and nature, a profound transformation occurred, which reflects a fundamental change in environmental values among people of different generations.The present article mainly used literature research methods,select the Chinese textbooks in different periods as primary study samples,and on the basis of the comparative analyses of the content about ecological and environmental protection in Chinese elementary language teaching materials, purports to probe into the historical developmental clue of ecological environmental values in such resources. Research indicates that the eco-environmental education concepts in Chinese elementary language textbooks experienced such a process,that is changed from unconscious development and Utilization to a conscious awareness of the environmental protection.During which people's attitude to the environment also change from conquest,transformation and use,to conservation, appreciation and respect and so on..
