Because of the understanding of intelligence meaning and characteristic,the development psychologist of Harvard University Professor Howard Gardiner have proposed the plural intelligence theory, on the basis of criticizing theory of factors of the intelligence form. Gardiner thought of the individual to be relative and present independently, with nine kinds of intelligence that have contacts with particular cognitive field or knowledge category, or nine kinds of interrelated intelligence of knowledge category. Education should be devoted to the development of student's plural intelligence.The intelligence that the plural intelligence theory scrutinizes students again with a brand-new visual field is developed. Concern the individual development of the students and promote people's value from the standing of philosophy of education. Put emphasis on teaching students in accordance with their aptitude from the aspect of education skill, and train student's plural intelligence.The plural intelligence theory complies with the pursuit to high-quality education of contemporary society of U.S.A., developing rapidly. Only in U.S.A., more than one hundred schools claim it is the experimental school of the plural intelligence. And thousands of schools regard plural intelligence theory as guidelines and carry on the reform in education. The plural intelligence theory has not merely exerted a great influence on the educational practice of U.S.A.,which offered the theory foundation for new course reform of our country at the same time. It impels us to have to ponder over the intension of education again, the value of education, and the education mode in the future.As for how to combine the plural intelligence theory and education reality of our country, realize the western education theory is transplanted cross-culturally, No 1 Middle School in Huangshi of Hubei have carried on positive exploration in this field. Regarding plural intelligence theory as support, and based on the development reality of the school, this school combine teaching resources, reform the course mode, change the teaching method and implement pluralism and appraise,which has made the good result of reform in education. This text regards studying the plural intelligence theory as the breakthrough point, explained the basic concept of the plural intelligence theory, analysed the reason of the reform in education and main action in No 1 Middle School under the guidance of the plural intelligence theory and carried on deep introspection of hitting the reform in education.
