| This thesis aims at studying the theoretical significance and practical value of network autonomous reading. We know that the teaching of reading is of the most importance in English teaching. English reading in senior middle school takes a lot of time with low efficiency. Traditional English reading teaching stresses the important role of the teachers in developing students' language competence. Is it possible to create a reading teaching mode in which students are mainstay instead? The answer is positive because the smart terminal of the computer and the gradual popularization of the network have provided conditions for this practice. Now under the influence of the theories such as lifetime learning, autonomous learning and multi-intelligence, the autonomous reading using network comes naturally as a new teaching approach against such a background. This thesis expounds the possibility of network autonomous reading through the combination of theoretical study and teaching practice. The thesis first makes a definition of some key concepts, describes the current reading teaching situation and points out its limitation, expounds the theoretical and practical significance of network autonomous reading, and makes a further exploration of the mode of network autonomous reading. Secondly, it explains how to make the design for network autonomous reading using examples and illustrations. And finally, the thesis reaches conclusions through contrast and comparison, analysis, and assessment of the questionnaires and the results of reading part of the terms examinations and through other various means that network independent autonomous reading is an effective teaching method. The network independent autonomous reading is a brand new exploration which needs further study and exploration in order to become a popular reading method among the teachers and students. |
