The post-massification of higher education means that higher education developing to some degree, usually at the telophase of massification or the prophase of popularization, the traditional young students'scale becomes stable, while the non-traditional adult students'scale becomes larger and larger. The times of non-traditional adult students coming into college are more and more frequent. Consequently, the main study object of this article is the erollment of non-traditional adults. There are two keystones in this article: one is analyzing the inevitability of post-massification in higher education, including the inevitability of post-massification as a rule existing every country, and the inevitability that our country realize post-massification in higher education; the other is the reform of adult enrollment caused by post-massification. In our country, the system of adult enrllment isn't suitable to the post-massification, and need to regenerate to cater to the new development situation of higher education. There are four parts in this thesis: Firstly, the inevitability and exhibition of post-massification and and the reform of system caused by it has been analyzed through three case that come from America, Britain, and Japan. Secondly, the inevitability of our country come into the era of post-massification in higher education has been analyzed through five aspects that is economy, politics, culture, population and higher education. Thirdly, the actuality of adult enrollment and the main problem that are not adapted to post-massification has been discussed. Finally, combining the the situation of our country with the experience from other countries, the main orientation and countermeasure for adult enrollment has been put forward. The viewpoints and conclusions are below: Firstly, the three country that America, Britain, Japan have the same situation in higher education, which proves the inevitability of post-massification. From the practice of the three country, the elementary characters can be summarized, that are constantly increasing of proportion of non-traditional adults, non-traditional students mainly coming into colleges which are middle arrangement, and the entry routes of adults to college being diversification. Seccondly, in our country, there is a large nontraditional students market that hasn't been explored. If only the economy, politics, culture, population and higher education advanced according to natural trend, our country must be able to create the necessary conditions and foundation, and the non-traditional market must be changed from potentially to realistically, and the post-massification of higher education must be a inevitable outcome of society progressing roundly. Thirdly, the enrollment of adults has many problems, which don't adapt to the requirement of post-massification. The single and nonflexible enrollment is urgently demanded to reform. Finally, caused by the post-massification of higher education, the adults enrollment system in our country should be transferred into locality, diversification and self-determination, and the specific measures should be released to promote the reform.
