Research On The Personality Development Of Poor College Students

With the implementation of China's merged enrollment in college in 1997 and the system reform of college tuition, the phenonmenon of massive growth of poor college students appeared in China. As the rapid expansion of higher education since 1999, the National Education Development Bulletin of Statistics shows that the total scale of China's higher education has been more than 27million in 2007, the gross enrollment rate has reached 23 percent, at the same time the number of poor college students increased rapidly, 3 million in 2002, 4.6 million in 2005,5 million in 2006. Communist party and government paid more attention to the phenonmenon of college poor students, so far it has been formed a primarily-perfected subsidory system and policies. Besides, we should put more emphasis on the personality growth of poor college students. Poor college students are in a critical period of personality formation, due to the impact of the environment and their own cognition, their personalities prone to develop unhealthy characteristics, they tend to feel inferior, anxious, loss of life goals. The personality development of poor college students relates to the cultivation of future talents, the fundamental development of higher education in a long-term, the social stability,and harmonious development.The paper indicates the situation of poor college students and analyzes the personality of poor college students theoretically, then elaborates the factors that influence the personality fomation, discusses on the aspects of the social, family, university environment and the self-adjust system,finally raises the solution in outer and inner factors. The paper talks in the perspective of education management in the outer factors,in the education administration level to improve the subsidization system of higher education; broaden the channels of higher education subsidization; strengthen the employment support for the poor college students in order to support the poor college students from the outside policies and systems.In the level of university management,the university should repect the poor students in the process of subsidization, creat a harmonious environment, enforce the education on college students' psychological health, integrate the humanity thoughts into curriculum teaching. The inner factor lies on poor college students' self-adjustment.
