Rapid economic growth matched with its huge demand for applied technicians help drive Chinese secondary vocational education into a bright prospect. The achievement of the cultivation aim and task will, on the one hand, inevitably rely on the building of a teaching staff with strong guarantee in quantity, quality and structure, on the other hand, fall back upon the reduction of brain drain, the optimal regrouping of teachers and the arousing of working initiative. Therefore, the setting up of a motivation mechanism for teachers has become a compelling problem.This study, starting with its discussion of the requirement for vocational school teachers by social development and the importance and necessity in refining mechanism, fully explain the significance in optimizing mechanism, clearly delimits the key definitions in research and sweeping combs the related motivation theories and mechanism home and abroad.This study, taking Yibin Secondary Vocational School of Commerce, a representative secondary vocational school in western China, as subject, does a concrete research by questionnaire by 200 teachers and investigating some representatives, it filters out some factors influencing working initiative and points out:â‘ The building of teaching staff in vocational school should be improved.â‘¡ The leading need in teachers is not very definite ,mainly say, their material does not keep balanced.â‘¢The exterior motivation factors for teachers' development are not so perfect and they can not arouse teachers' working initiative in different stapes. Considering the above problems, this study puts forth its own suggestion from five aspects: Optimizing teacher structure, Valuing the combination of material and spiritual inspiration, Creating opportunities for fair competition, Strengthening environmental and atmospheric inspiration, and furthering Teachers' personal development in different stapes.
