Juvenile Delinquency And Criminal Subculture

There are a lot of connections between the culture and the crime. Culture is divided into the mainstream culture and the subculture, the subculture , particularly the criminal subculture, has a great impact on juvenile delinquency. In recent years, although the practical and theoretical arena attach great importance to the problem of juvenile delinquency, but from the data that I have attained, each year, the number of juvenile delinquency in China continues to show an upward trend. Generally speaking, juvenile crimes , like other criminal phenomena ,are the result of a combination of natural reasons, social reasons, individual and cultural reasons. Criminal subculture as a sub-concept of culture is one of the incentives of juvenile delinquency, and we can hardly lose sight of the fact that the criminal subculture plays an important role in triggering the juvenile delinquency. This article on juvenile delinquency and criminal sub-culture consists of four parts:The first Chapter gives a general description of the overall situation of China's juvenile delinquency and its basic characteristics, by the use of the data analysis. At present, the two basic trends of juvenile crime in China show that: Firstly, the proportion of young people committing juvenile crimes , compared to the total number of criminals, has been under control; Secondly, the number of young people committing juvenile crime is increasing. Juvenile crime shows four basic characteristics: First, criminals with younger age; second, the increasingly serious gang crimes; Third, the obvious trend of serious violence; fourth, intelligent criminal means.The second chapter ,on the basis of the analysis of the present situation , elaborates that criminal subculture is a major incentive of juvenile crime. In this section, the author elaborates it in three levels: first, defined the concept of the subculture and criminal sub-culture .then, locate itself in the positioning system of the reasons, believe that criminal subculture play a intermediary role in triggering Juvenile delinquency, and it is the immediate cause . lastly, state the theory of criminal subculture on its role in triggering juvenile delinquency.The third chapter gives a brief introduction of the four typical criminal subculture and crime caused by the relevant juvenile delinquency, including: violent subculture and youth violent crime, pornography and the youth subculture of crime, gang culture and youth-gang crime, Network of juvenile delinquency and criminal subculture.The fourth chapter puts forward solutions towards juvenile delinquency through the study of criminal subculture. Seen from the general mechanism of all kinds of criminal subculture , we can both strengthen the supervision of the culture and the education of adolescents as the general methods for preventing juvenile delinquency .Different kinds of criminal subcultures vary differently ,though they may have the same general mechanism . I hope to propose a concrete way which will prevent the crimes committed by adolescents, such as youth violent crimes,sex crimes,gang crimes and internet crimes ,from different characteristics of the four typical criminal subcultures .
