A Survey On Status Of The High Teacher-to-students' Occupational Interest

Occupational interest,as one of influencing facets of occupation selection,plays an impoant role in occupation selection.Currently,as the reform of the management system of higher education continues to deepen,newly vocations rush out continually, types of employment are more flexible and occupation selections of high teacher-to-students are not limited in teaching.At the same time,the characteristics of high teacher-to-students' occupational interest are not only related to high teacher-to-students'occupational selection,but related to the development of higher education.Based on overviews of former researchers and the investigation of open-ended questionnaire,the theoretical hypothesis was constructed.According to relevant scales at home and abroad,we compiled the Preliminary Questionaire of the high Teacher-to-students' Occupational Interest by analysis of the formal questionnaire, we took back 599 effective questionnaires.According to the results of questionnaires the auhtor had explored analysis and defined main dimensionalities of the high teacher-to-students' occupational interest.After eliminating some not appropriate items, the author compiled the formal questionnaire.In addition,the study did some coparative research of diffemece.The results of the study showed that:1.The high teacher-to-students' occupational interests were similar to those of ordinary university students,there are seven types of high teacher-to-students' occupational interests:Engineering,Investigative,Artistic,Social,Powerful, Enterprising and Secretarial.2.The self-designed questionnaire of high teacher-to-students' occupational interests was of high reliability and fair validity.It can be regarded as a kind of evaluative implement on high teacher-to-students' occupational interest 3.The high teacher-to-students' occupational interests showed statistically significant difference in gender.Male students were more apt to Engineering, Enterprising and Investigative,and female students were more apt to Artistic.4.The high teacher-to-students' occupational interests showed statistically significant difference in Engineering and Artistic.Students special in liberal arts were more apt to Artistic,students special in Science and Engineering Course were more apt to Realistic,Investigative and Enterprising.5.The difference of the high teacher-to-students' occupational interests between urban and rural students was significant in Engineering and Investigative.Rural students were more apt to Engineering and Investigative.6.The significant differences of the high teacher-to-students'occupational interests were found in grade:Secretarial,Engineering,Investigative and Powerful.Junior got lower score on occupational interest types mentioned above.7.The high teacher-to-students were willing to be engaged in teaching careers or not,their occupational interests showed statistically significant difference in Social and Powerful.
