In modern times, under the impacts of the increasing population pressure and immigration policies, tens of thousands people in Shandong continued to move to the Northeast, which became a major feat in the history of Chinese immigrants during the modern times. From the perspective of demographic study, this paper explores the reasons of Shandong people's"Making a living to Northeast"in 1912-1931and its impact on the population density, population structure and human resources integration to make the readers understand migration campaign from a new perspective.Researching Shandong's immigration movement of this period from the perspective of comprehensive demographic study not only gives us the full understanding and knowledge of " Making a living to Northeast", but also helps us more objectively reflect the real this historical movement of migration campaign.The paper consists of four sections:The first part is about the social background and size of " Making a living to Northeast". This part outlines the reasons of the large-scale emigrations in Shandong in the years of 1912-1931, mainly from the attraction of the immigration policy and increment in population pressure. This part also introduces the immigration scale in brief.The second part expounds the impact on the integration of human resources. In view of the development and utilization of human resources, the large-scale immigration from Shandong to the Northeast not only compensated the lack of human resources in Northeast, but also fully utilized the large number of surplus labor in Shandong, which achieved the transformation of the workforce development and the optimized swap of human resources. The third part probes into the impact of " Making a living to Northeast " on of population density. This migration campaign realized the adjustment of population density both in the three northeastern provinces and Shandong province, which further rationalized the population distribution of these two places.The forth part goes deep into the impact of " Making a living to Northeast " on the population structure. In the years of 1912-1931, because large numbers of young men emigrated to the Northeast, the population structures (the structure of gender, age structure) both in Shandong Province and in Northeast were greatly affected.
