| Nowadays, urbanization is one of the most important phenomena about economy and society. As a key part of urbanization, the research on population urbanization is important and indispensable apparently. Jilin province is an important part of northeast China, Therefore, the mode and the object of Jilin population urbanization is important not only to Jilin province but also to northeast China.The paper insisted in combining theory and practice as well as combining qualitative and quantitative methods. By using human geography, economic geography, urban geography and other related disciplines of knowledge, the article was trying to choose the mode and the object of Jilin province at new stage.Part I: This part summarized the concept and the mensuration of the urbanization rate and discussed the scope about it. Then it summed up the classical theory in the development process and constructed the theoretical framework of urbanization about Jilin province.Part II: This section set out the macro background of the urbanization from two levels and provided the theoretical support by analyzing the promoting factors and the restraining factors about urbanization in Jilin province.Part III: The part analyzed the urbanization mechanisms and the problems in the processing of Jilin province and laid the foundation of choosing the mode and the object in Jilin province.Part IV: This section set out the urbanization mode of Jilin province by summarizing the urbanization modes of China and also set out a conclusion that the central region of Jilin province should choose a different urbanization mode from the eastern region as well as the western region. Then, this part predicted the number of the population and the urbanization rates in the future, and set out the development goals.Part V: This part analyzed the cities'spatial distribution of Jilin province. Then, it set out the control principles and control measures under the guidance of the mode and the development goals.
