In nowdays science and technology is very inportant, science education purpose improving the scientific literacy of all citizens has also been given important responsibilities. The Third World War has been quietly started in our science education. How to improve our level of science education has be concern by all over world.As we all know education is a complex system, The factor of affect student learning achievement is variety. Identify the factors affecting student achievement is more concerned about the education researchers, and how to identify factors is a complex problem. The International Association for the Evaluation of Education Achievement( I E A)'s Comparative Education Research have provided a good reference. Collection data from Bottom to up, analysis data, lead to a reasonable assumption.The timss used this approach provide us with a very good comparison.The general factor of affect student achievement is teachers characteristics, teaching performance, schools characteristics,students characteristics. The learning subject is student,so students have played a significant effect on the learning. There are many research on how students characteristics affect learning achievements in abroad.But differences differences have differences cultural, economic.In my thesis I will collection data from Bottom to up, analysis the data,find out the students characteristics which can be predicted studenty learning achievements.In this paper,I will use Centra and Potter's framework about teaching mode.The mode include students social status, parents influences, values and attitudes, expectations,sex. Students'characteristics questionnaire mainly from TIMSS, PISA students'background questionnaire, Chose subjects accordance with the framework. Student achievement questionnaire according as our current national curriculum standards of physical standards, Testing areas include three parts:content areas, cognitive areas science inquiry, Choose a suitable topic from TIMSS.Three schools students which come from Quanzhou town have been investigated in this paper,used regression analysis the data. The predicted students'physical achievements characteristics are Compare the result with other participate TIMSS countries, except collect book and physics exercise other factor are similar. This research carried out in country, There have little In country book. So collect book have no use.The predicted characteristics were difference with United States and other Western countries.Student performance bad in inquiry than in the content areas, Teachers know little about the inquiry.Student never do inquiry.this maybe the reason why student performance bad in inquiry.
