| Since the reform and opening up, the shortcomings of family education become more and more obviously in the Chinese interior area, as the growing demands brought about by political, economical and cultural developments. The main cause is the comparatively low-level education of parents, which is reflected in such aspects as stereotyped attitudes towards education, backward educational concept, monotonous and boring teaching methods, utilitarian values on education and inappropriate expectations. All this disqualifies the parents to better educate their children. Whereas parenting education analyzes the causes of problems in family education and puts forward new theories and corresponding strategies, and has got positive effects.Parenting education we talk about in this paper refers to the kind of education that parents, through learning, become qualified, guide and assist their children to adapt themselves and grow up. It includes two parts namely education for parents and education for children. Parenting education aims at making parents and helps them fulfill a better task in educating their children.This study adopts documentary method. The paper analyzes the cause of problem in family education, discusses family relations and the present time when the Chinese interior area is undergoing great transformation, defines parents' responsibilities appropriately and makes a brief outline of parenting education through systematic generalization in view of China's poor conditions of parenting education in the Chinese interior area. The research also summarizes the guarantee of implementing parenting education from both legal and social system aspects, especially its feasible approaches, in order to steer parenting education in practice and to promote its development.In this paper, on the basis of analyzing previous studies on parent education defined, we firstly introduce the concept of parenting education and its content, functions, as well as importance, and then make comparisons between parenting education and family education for a better understanding of parenting education, and summarize the historical and present conditions of studying and implementing parenting education at home and abroad, then take this as the experience, we proposed that formulating the parenting education law and establishing parenting education's implementing system is able to guarantee the implementation of parenting education carrying out generally in the Chinese interior area, and discuss the implementing strategies elaborately and systemically from five aspects, namely its implementing methods, implementing parenting education in kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools and schools for parents, implementing parenting education in professional technical institutes, colleges and universities, implementing parenting education at home, and implementing in informal educational systems and other related institutions. We hope it may provide guidance on the application and development of parenting education in practice in the Chinese interior area.Finally, on the basis of analyzing the latest development tendency and characteristic of parenting education in the US and other countries, we make some suggestions for promoting parenting education in the Chinese interior area from four aspects, including government, society, schools, and families. |
