The study uses qualitative research, and has selected a lower and a upper class in a typical kindergarten through purposeful sampling. By the means of the observation to the classroom wall design of kindergarten, as well as the interview with teachers and children to obtain the first hand materials, we revealed the teachers' concepts of the wall design in kindergarten classroom and it' s meaning to children by analyzing the materials. This research consists of four parts:The first part: The reason of the study, the research review and methods of the research and how to analyze data. The second part: The themes for walls chosen by the teachers are mainly limited by teachers' values on knowledge and the related regulations in the kindergarten. For teachers, classroom wall design can be in advance of teaching schedule. It' s a time-consuming thing just for pleasing the parents or examination and evaluation. Thus, they pay more attention to the good looks of the walls rather than the functions. The third part: States the role of children in the wall design of kindergarten classroom: a passive receiver and marginal people. Their works are showed partly on the walls. They are demanded to collect materials for the wall design by teachers, and occasionally to help teachers glue something or do some trifle things. But actually, children like doing it by themselves. The forth part: The wall design in kindergarten classroom teaches the clotting time, good looks overweighting operation, modeling effects and the consolidation of knowledge to everyone who entered the classroom just like a silent language.
