With Beijing's successful application for the Olympic game in 2008, the voice that Chinese martial art joins Olympic game got stronger and stronger thereafter. With the combined efforts of International Martial Art League and the Chinese government, Chinese martial art becomes the performing item in Beijing Olympic finally. In order to get Chinese martial art join the Olympic and get it expand globally, the contest rules for martial art was greatly reformed in a more detailed way to get it more optimized for application and development. With the emphasis on the action standard, the new rules additionally take in difficult actions and relevant encouraging grading for new created difficult actions. In such a circumstance, in order to be more initiative during contests and get a good grade, the athletes can only win with the intensification on the performing skills on difficulty actions and the connections. With the continuous intensification and innovation on the performing skills of the difficult actions, good status of athletes both in physical and psychological become more and more important. No doubt, good achievements in contests relate more closely with the psychological status. While there are less study on anxiety status before martial art contest for undergraduate athletes so far, this essay is mainly aiming at the relationship between anxiety before martial art contests and the achievement during contests.This study mainly applies the methods of documentation, psychological testing, expert interview and numeral statistic. With these methods, we get know the characteristics of anxiety status before martial art contest for undergraduate athletes, to certify the relationship between anxiety characteristics and contest achievement, and to further provide the beneficial reference on psychological training and education.The study result shows:(1) The characteristic anxiety before martial art contest for undergraduate athletes results no apparent difference in terms of the sport levels and genders, while it results very apparent differences in the contesting achievements. Therefore, as a very stable one, contest characteristic anxiety could be an efficient interposition for the psychological testing and education on the undergraduate athletes of martial arts.(2) Status anxiety before martial art contest for undergraduate athletes results very apparent difference in terms of the athletes' confidence at the same sport level. There results no apparent difference in terms of gender, while it has remarkable significance in the contesting achievements.(3) The relationship between characteristic anxiety and anxiety status before martial art contest for undergraduate athletes has remarkable significance. The characteristic anxiety and anxiety status before martial art contest are the important factors which influence the achievement of the undergraduates during martial art contests.
