With economy developing and living condition improving, the consumption goes upon high levels. Gradually, cultural consumption plays more and more important role. We wonder how the Community-Youth, who are easy to be ignored in cultural consumption, do this kind of practice. And what are the factors of their cultural consumption? How do the factors give influence?Based on the Community-Youth living in the District of Putuo in Shanghai, the paper focuses the research on the current situation and characteristics of the cultural consumption of this group. Meanwhile, from the perspective of sociology, the paper also includes the study on the factors of the cultural consumption and how do they act, as well as how does this group get the cultural capital through cultural consumption in order to be benefit in the social field.In this paper, quantitative and qualitative research methods are combined. Capital-Field-Habitus Theory (by Pierre Bourdieu), Consuming and Identification Theory and Subculture Theory are applied to make the in-depth analysis.The paper is composed of five different chapters. The first chapter is introduction. The researches on cultural consumption are reviewed, and then the study perspectives, academic hypothesis and research approach are put forward. The level, structure and content of the cultural consumption of the group are introduced in the second chapter, which are the foundation of the further study. Chapter 3 covers the three dimensions factors of individual, group and society. It is discussed that how the factors influence the cultural consumption. Chapter 4 focuses on the relations of the factors. In the fifth chapter, it is about the influence of the cultural consumption on the life of the Community-Youth, how the group uses the cultural consumption to make identification and orientation, and what does the cultural consumption of the group mean to the whole social field.The conclusions are as follows: Among all the factors the hobbies and need of the individuals are the most important ones. Also there is a cultural consumption habitus in the group for their similar field. Furthermore, the Community-Youth are at the relative disadvantages position in the social cultural system and their cultural consumption-need has got little attention by the mainstream culture.
