Tony Blair, British Labor Party leader, won in the election of British Prime Minister in 1997, 2001 and 2005. During his three terms of service, he pursued political theory of "the third way", leading British education reform took on a new momentum of development:Firstly, Blair stated that his three top priorities on government work were "education, education and education". Secondly, he promoted the democratization process of education from two aspects: On one hand, expand the power of local governments and the autonomy of schools. On the other hand, attach importance to each child and each school. Thirdly, Blair had quicken the modernization process of education by building high-quality teaching force, improving education management system and developing the modern educational technology. Fourthly, He had established and improved a lifelong education system in UK, striving to make education through the entire life of people. Fifthly, Blair had enhanced international cooperation in education by developing trade in higher education services and modern distance education.This paper studies on the significant education policies in the period of Tony Blair administration from 1997 to 2007. After reviewing the key education polices in this period, the paper analyses its background and discusses the enlightenment to Chinese education policy reform. It contains four parts: The first part is foreword, which notes the origins of this topic and the purpose of the study. The second part introduces education situation before Blair administration and analyses the background of New Labor's reform on education policies. The third part introduces in detail key education policy during Blair administration and summarizes the orientation of its policy. The last part compares education policies between China and Britain and analyses what we can learn from Blair education policies.
