The rapid development of socialist market economy requires a great number of specialists as well as a large well-educated labor force. As we are striving for the industrialization of Chinese characteristics, the construction of specialties in technical schools has to meet the high demand of being qualified for various industries and professions. So far, a great variety of studies have been made on the construction and administration of specialties, most of which, however, are aiming at the universities and colleges. The specific analysis on the technical schools is relatively lacking, and many problems are to be explored. Therefore, it is of fundamental importance to analyze the construction and administration of specialties in technical schools so as to serve the society and economy more efficiently.Relative documents have been collected comprehensively through various approaches in the subject study. The first hand material has been obtained by the seminars and questionnaire survey in labor security department, enterprises and technical schools, and the consequent data have been analyzed through mathematical statistics, and the thesis places great emphasis on the theoretical study of the construction and administration of specialties in technical schools, which is playing a significant role in improving the quality of teaching and the effectiveness of education. The thesis focuses on the basic conception, the modes and the essential elements of specialties construction. Through the illustration of the existing problems and the causes, the thesis provides relative suggestions and policies in the subject objectives, establishment and adjustment, the teaching staff, the training base, the courses, the materials, the schedule, implementation and quality control of different majors.The full-scale evaluation of the construction and administration of specialties in technical schools has not yet been carried out in our country, and the evaluation system is not ye complete. The thesis, therefore, explores the rationality and feasibility of evaluation components and methods of subject construction. In terms of the circumstances in Xinjiang Technical School, the thesis puts forward"the evaluation plan for the quality standard and management of the specialties in technical schools", which is to play the role of real time diagnosing, monitoring and warning, and intended for the regulation and guidance of the subject construction in technical schools.
